SSI Instructor & Dive Shop Owner

Diving since age 8, Alex has spent 23 years in the water — and 15+ years learning the dive business inside and out. Whatever you need, he'll get you dialed in and leaving happy, every time. He's the guy behind the scenes keeping everything running — from fitting you for the right gear, to Full Face Mask specialty courses and dive certifications, to gear repair as a licensed service tech, to managing the shop, social media, and website. You may also recognize him from Beyond Oak Island, Yolo TX, Day Trippers, and local news features on the park.

Calvin is the original owner of Athens Scuba Park, a dive shop known for its exceptional diving training since its establishment in 1987. With over 30 years of experience as a PADI Instructor and Public Safety Diving Master Instructor, he has played a vital role in training scuba diving staff. Although he has retired from scuba instructing and has managed the business until 2026, he now enjoys treasure hunting as his main hobby. Calvin was also featured on Beyond Oak Island with Alex.

Married to Calvin, who is also a PADI Instructor, she has been part of the dive industry since the late 80s. Over the last 40 years, she has been instrumental in organizing all of our diving training classes, showcasing her expertise as part of the dive shop staff. Though she is semi-retired, she remains actively involved in supporting our scuba diving staff!

SSI & PADI Divemaster Instructor

East Texas native

Diving the lakes of East Texas has become a passion for Scott, a dedicated member of the dive shop staff. Helping others learn about the wonderful world of scuba diving through professional diving training is truly a blessing for him.

As a certified PADI Instructor and SSI Instructor, Scott has been fortunate to travel to many places to dive and explore. He is also very involved in reef restoration and marine ecology, contributing his expertise as part of the scuba diving staff.

SSI Open Water Instructor Craig began his diving journey in 2023 and quickly discovered a passion for exploring the underwater world—and sharing it with others. He immersed himself in numerous diving training courses, which led him to become a Divemaster. After spending almost a year as a Divemaster, Craig transitioned to an SSI Instructor. As part of the dive shop staff, Craig is dedicated to helping new divers build confidence, develop strong foundational skills, and experience the excitement of scuba diving for the first time. His teaching style emphasizes safety, comfort, and creating a fun, supportive learning environment for every student. With a calm presence, patience, and a genuine love of diving, Craig enriches every class he teaches.

Ralph, one of our dedicated dive shop staff, handles most of our Try Scuba and Discover Scuba experiences, as well as leading dive tours. He has been a PADI Divemaster for many years and has recently upgraded his rank to become an SSI Assistant Instructor, enhancing his qualifications for diving training.
