Meet our Staff

SSI Instructor & Dive Shop Owner

Diving since age 8, Alex has spent 23 years in the water — and 15+ years learning the dive business inside and out. Whatever you need, he'll get you dialed in and leaving happy, every time. He's the guy behind the scenes keeping everything running — from fitting you for the right gear, to Full Face Mask specialty courses and dive certifications, to gear repair as a licensed service tech, to managing the shop, social media, and website. You may also recognize him from Beyond Oak Island, Yolo TX, Day Trippers, and local news features on the park.

Calvin established Athens Scuba Park in 1987 and managed the business until 2026. A PADI Instructor and Public Safety Diving Master Instructor with more than 30 years of experience, he is now retired from teaching and enjoys treasure hunting. He appeared on Beyond Oak Island with Alex.

PADI Instructor

Shannon has been part of the dive industry since the late 1980s, organizing training classes and supporting the park alongside her husband, Calvin. She is semi-retired and remains involved with the team.

SSI & PADI Divemaster Instructor

An East Texas native, Scott enjoys exploring local lakes and introducing others to scuba diving. His travels have taken him to dive sites around the world, and he is actively involved in reef restoration and marine ecology.

SSI Divemaster Instructor

Craig started diving in 2023, progressed to Divemaster, and later became an SSI Instructor. He helps new divers build confidence and strong foundational skills, with an emphasis on safety, comfort, and a supportive learning environment.

Ralph leads many of our Try Scuba and Discover Scuba experiences, along with guided dive tours. A longtime PADI Divemaster, he has also earned his SSI Assistant Instructor rating.
